SCALE 10X to host free SCALE Kids Conference in LA

For the first time in its ten year historyr, the Southern California Linux
Expo will host the SCALE Kids Conference, a free and open source event
where the community leaders of tomorrow will be able to spotlight
their talents and ideas.

The goal of the conference is to be as "kid-driven" as possible. The
event offers a unique opportunity for kids 10 to 16 to see and
experience the inner workings of planning, determine the content, and
help to steer the direction that the conference will take.

The SCALE Kids Conference will take place on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012
in parallel with the main SCALE 10X conference.

It is a vendor-neutral forum celebrating the diversity of NoSQL technologies and helping businesses develop objective evaluation processes to match the right NoSQL solutions with the required business challenge. They are now accepting speaking proposals to the extended deadline of April 25.

Topics can include solutions and approaches that can be implemented today, by those enterprises and government organizations which have significant data management and analysis requirements and need alternative solutions to traditional SQL-based products. This year, the main Google event of the year was filled to capacity in less than a day!!

Alumni from the 2010 event got early notification. Since I only was at 2008 and 2009, I did not get early notification, even though I did ask Google for this. It looks like the only way to get in next year is to make frequent contact with this year's attendees.

It looks like Google needs to use the entire Moscone Convention Center which would allow for double or triple the number of attendees.
